MONMOUTH, Ore. - The 2023 NCAA Division II Cross Country West Regional Championships took place Saturday at Ash Creek Preserve on Saturday morning. Cal State East Bay men's cross country placed 12th among 24 teams in the men's 10k.
Leading the Pioneers on Saturday was
Cole McKain, who set a new personal 10k record of 31 minutes, 50.5 seconds, placing 38th overall.
Rounding out the top five finishers for Cal State East Bay were
Chas O'Bear (31:59.9),
Matthew Morgon (32:37.8),
Isaac Tiscareno (33:02.4) and
Dylan Gong (34:00.7).
Johan Correa, from Central Washington, was the individual champion of the men's 10 at the 2023 NCAA Division II Cross Country West Regional Championships with a finish of 30:42.1. The top three teams in the regional, who automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships on November 18 included Chico State, Azusa Pacific and Cal Poly Pomona. Additional at-large selections for teams and individuals on teams that were not selected or automatically advancing will be announced before this coming Wednesday.
