Mika Sayfurahman was named Pixellot/CCAA Offensive Player of the Week.
As the Pioneers picked up a pair of wins to climb the CCAA standings, Sayfurahman scored Friday's only goal in a 1-0 win over Cal Poly Humboldt. On Sunday, Sayfurahman had an assist on the Pioneers' second goal of the match in a 2-0 win over Sonoma State. In total, she tallied six shots with four on net in 160 minutes on the pitch during the week.
The Pioneers have won three straight matches and are in a three way tie for fifth place in the CCAA standings with three matches remaining in the regular season.
For Cal State East Bay, the weekly award was the first for the women's soccer program since the week of September 27-October 3 when Tami Kwong was named CCAA Women's Soccer Player of the Week.
The Pioneers will look for a push toward the postseason starting with a CCAA match on Friday, October 27 at Cal Poly Pomona. Kickoff from Kellogg Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
