Overview

The Pioneers will travel to Seaside for the CCAA Softball Championship. The Pioneers are the #6 seed and will take on the #3 Sonoma State in the tournament opener. First pitch is set for Thursday at 11 am. With the tournament played as double elinimation, the earliest elimination game takes place on Friday. Therefore, Cal State East Bay will play one game on Friday regardless of Thursday's outcome(s). 

Three Players to Watch 

Sarah Fukushima – The senior from Sacramento, California leads the Pioneers in batting average (.385), runs (33) and hits (62). She was also named to the 2022 All-CCAA First Team. 

Abby Greer – The senior from Beaverton, Oregon leads the Pioneers in ERA (2.84) and strikeouts (125) and had two wins last week to help lead the Pioneers to a CCAA Tournament berth. 

Annelise Garcia – The freshman from Sacramento, California is second on the Pioneers in batting average (.356) and leads the team in RBIs (23).

Last Series

On Friday, the Pioneers split their doubleheader with Stanislaus State, winning game one 5-2 and losing game two 2-1. On Saturday, the Pioneers also won game one 4-0 and lost 4-3 in the second game. With the split series and the split series between SF State and Cal State San Bernardino, the Pioneers clinched a spot in the tournament on the final day of the regular season.
