Annelise Garcia hit an RBI double in the bottom of the first inning, that drove in Fukushima to give the Pioneers a 1-0 lead. Fukushima led off the bottom of the first with a walk.

To lead off the top of the third, Fukushima made history with her 224th career hit to become Cal State East Bay's all-time leader in hits. Her hit eventually led to a run, as she scored on an RBI triple by Madeline Ramirez for a 2-0 lead.

Fukushima picked up an RBI on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the fourth, as Sarah Duran scored to give CSUEB a 3-0 lead.

When Garcia tripled to lead off the bottom of the fifth, she eventually scored the Pioneers' fourth run on an RBI single from Duran.

A trio of runs were scored by the Pioneers in the top of the sixth to pull away from the Gators. Garcia,  Gabriela Rivera and Ysabella Cortez had RBI singles in the inning, as the Pioneers led 7-0 and finished the top of the seventh holding the Gators scoreless for the shutout.

Fukushima became the all-time hits leader at Cal State East Bay on Friday, surpassing a record that was in place for more than 25 years, which was 223 hits in a career by Danette Davis, who played for the Pioneers from 1991 to 1994.

Abby Greer picked up her seventh win of the season in the circle.

Game Two – San Francisco State 11, CSU East Bay 3 (5 innings)

The Gators scored nine runs in the first two innings. The Pioneers got on the board in the bottom of the second on a Ysabella Cortez sacrifice fly RBI to center field that scored Annelise Garcia. The Gators went ahead 10-1 in the bottom of the third with a run back.

Cal State East Bay added a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth – one on a Garcia RBI triple to center field that scored Madeline Ramirez and one on a Gabriela Rivera Single single to center field that drove in Garcia. The Gators scored once more, in the top of the fifth, and effectively without Cal State East Bay scoring in the bottom of the fifth, won by run-rule.

Saturday's doubleheader between the Pioneers and Gators was postponed and a make up date will be announced once it becomes available.

The next scheduled series for Cal State East Bay takes place on April 22-23 with a four-game set against Sonoma State. The first of two doubleheaders begins this coming Friday at 1 p.m. from Seawolf Softball Field in Rohnert Park.
