Overview
Cal State East Bay will play their first home series in almost a month as they will take on San Francisco State in a CCAA series at Pioneer Softball Field. The Pioneers lost all four games of their series last weekend against Chico State and the Gators lost all four games of their series against Cal State Dominguez Hills. The Pioneers currently hold the sixth spot in the standings for the final CCAA Tournament position, and are three games ahead of SF State going into Friday.Â

On Friday, in game one, the Pioneers took the lead in the first inning but allowed six runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings as the Wildcats won 6-2. In game two on Friday, the Wildcats would score a single run in the first, second and third innings in a 3-0 victory. On Saturday, in game one, the Wildcats scored four runs in the fourth inning en route to a 6-3 win. In game two on Saturday, the Pioneers trailed 7-3 going into the seventh inning, and came back to  tie the game in the top of the seventh but the Wildcats would plate the winning walk-off run in the bottom of the seventh for a 8-7 win.Â
