PLEASANTON, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay women's golf team maintained its big lead and cruised to a winning the Bay Area Invitational, while
Jasmin Krishna earned first-place overall on Tuesday at Calippe Preserve Golf Course.
The Pioneers shot a 315 as a team in Tuesaday's second and final round, which was three shots better than the field. CSUEB shot a total of 611 (+27) for the two-day tournament after entering the day well ahead in first place by 21 strokes.
Holy Names (639, +55) was second and Chico State (644, +60) was third.
Krishna entered the day leading the field and again had the best round of the day Tuesday with a 73 (E), and recorded a total score of 145 (-1).
Caroline Berge tied for second place with a 152 (+6), while
Sachika Singh finished fourth at 156 (+10).
Drishti Karumbaya tied for eighth with a score of 160 (+14),
Arrianna Custodio was 13th (160, +20) and
Cassandra Puspoki was tied for 17th playing as an individual at 169 (+23).
East Bay resumes action next week beginning on Monday, Feb. 28 at Corica Park in Alameda.
