ARCATA, Calif. — The No. RV/24-ranked Cal State East Bay women's basketball team came out strong in the first half before crusing to a road victory over Cal Poly Humboldt, 64-49, Saturday evening at Lumberjack Arena.
CSUEB (18-2, 13-1 CCAA) has now won three-straight games overall and four of its last five against Cal Poly Humboldt (7-12, 6-9). The Pioneers remain in second place in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) standings with four games remaining.
Junior
Grace Campbell scored 13 points with eight rebounds, senior guard
Madison Schiller and sophomore guard
Zhane Duckett also scored 13 points apiece, while junior guard
Delia Moore finished with eight points and eight rebounds.
East Bay had a 19-12 lead after the first quarter and led by as many as 17 in the second period before taking a 38-22 advantage into halftime.
The Pioneers return to action at home next week with a contest against San Francisco State on Thursday, Feb. 17, beginning at 5:30 p.m., before playing host to Cal State Monterey Bay on Senior Day next Saturday, Feb. 19 at 1 p.m.
