ROHNERT PARK, Calif. — The No. RV/24-ranked Cal State East Bay women's basketball team used stifling defense to earn a road victory over Sonoma State, 53-38, on Thursday evening at The Wolves' Den.
It was the third-fewest points CSUEB has given up this season, as the Pioneers entered the game with the best scoring defense in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), allowing 55.5 points per contest.
The Pioneers led 28-22 at halftime before outscoring Sonoma State 12-2 in the third period.

Grace Campbell scored a team-high 13 points on 6-of-11 shooting to go with seven rebounds, sophomore guard
Zhane Duckett recorded 12 points, five rebounds and five assists, while junior guard
Delia Moore finished with eight points and seven rebounds.
East Bay returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 12, as the Pioneers hit the road to face Cal Poly Humboldt beginning at 5:30 p.m.
