Zack Perlstein's 25 Points Lift Pioneers at Sonoma State, 80-69

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. — Junior guard Zack Perlstein scored a career-high 25 points to lead all scorers and lift the Cal State East Bay men's basketball team to a road victory over Sonoma State, 80-69, Thursday night at The Wolves' Den.

A native a Vacaville, Perlstein shot 9-of-14 from the field, making a career-best six 3-pointers to go along with four rebounds and three assists. Freshman guard DJ Sanders added 13 points with seven rebounds, while junior Tone Patton had another strong game with 12 points and six rebounds

CSUEB has now won three-straight games and four of its last five overall to move into a tie for seventh place in the CCAA conference standings.

East Bay led by six at halftime, 34-28, but trailed by as many as six in the second half. However, the Pioneers used a 16-0 run capped off by Perlstein's short jumper in the paint to build a 73-62 lead with 3:57 remaining in the game.

CSUEB continues this week's road trip at Cal Poly Humboldt on Saturday, Feb. 12, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
