WAIMEA, Hawaii – The first round of the Dennis Rose Invitational teed off Friday, as the Cal State East Bay women's golf team sits a 10^th place tie among 16 teams at Hapuna Golf Course.
 
Drishti Karumbaya sits in a ninth place tie on the leaderboard at 1-over-par 73. She had three birdies on Friday.
 
Also with three birdies from Cal State East Bay was Mandi Granato, who finished at 6-over-par 78 in the round.
 
Through one round, there is a two-way tie for first between Arnie Taguines from UT Permian Basin and Emma Worgum from Western Washington. Cal State San Marcos leads the team competition heading into Saturday.
 
Saturday competition in the Dennis Rose Invitational marks the final round of the 2022 fall season for the Pioneers, as the field tees off at 7:30 a.m. HST (10:30 a.m. Pacific).
