HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay women's basketball team earned a home victory Thursday night for its 11th-consecutive win, defeating Humboldt State, 76-55, at Pioneer Gym.
CSUEB (12-1, 7-0 CCAA) improved to a perfect 5-0 at home this season, and has won three of its last four meetings with Humboldt State (4-8, 3-5 CCAA).
Freshman
Taylor Linzie recorded her second double-double of the season, finishing with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore
Mina Tameliau added 12 points with five rebounds, junior guard
Delia Moore scored 11 points with two steals and sophomore guard
Zhane Duckett finished with four points, 10 rebounds and six assists.
East Bay led by three after the first quarter and took a 36-27 advantage into halftime. The Pioneers took command of the game early in the second half behind a 13-2 run, capped off by Tameliau's bucket in the paint that made it 49-29 with 4:30 remaining in the third quarter.
CSUEB continues this week's homestand on Saturday, Jan. 22, as the Pioneers play host to Sonoma State beginning at 1 p.m.
