HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay men's basketball team dropped its final non-conference contest against Saint Martin's, 72-66, on Wednesday evening at Pioneer Gym.
Freshman guard
DJ Sanders scored a team-high 16 points to go with three rebounds and three assists, while junior guard
Kaito Williams finished with 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting.
Senior forward
Zafir Williams, the reigning CCAA Player of the Week, scored 12 points with four rebounds and junior forward
Tim Andreolli added six points with eight rebounds.
CSUEB (2-4) showed tremendous resilience as the Pioneers trailed by 20 points in the first half, but pulled within one, 41-40, after junior
Tone Patton's bucket inside with 16:21 remaining.
East Bay returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 27, as it begins conference play against Cal State Dominguez HIlls beginning at 3 p.m.
