HAYWARD, Calif. —
The Cal State East Bay men's basketball team is set for its 2021-22 home opener on Wednesday, Nov. 17, as the East Bay plays host to Dominican at Pioneer Gym beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The contest will be streamed live on CCAA Network, and live stats will be available.

Fifth-year Pioneer head coach Bryan Rooney is a alumnus of Dominican, where he was an all-conference guard and the school's Athlete of the Year award winner as a senior.

CSUEB (0-2) is coming off two tough defeats last weekend at Fresno Pacific's FPU Crossover Classic, dropping a road contest against the Sunbirds on Friday, and falling short in a neutral-site matchup with No. 24-ranked Point Loma on Saturday.

Junior guard Zack Perlstein is off to a hot start this season, shooting 50 percent from the field and averaging 11.5 points per game through two contests. Fellow junior Kaito Williams is right behind averaging 11 points per contest, shooting a sizzling 83 percent (5-for-6) from 3-point range, while senior forward Zafir Williams is nearly averaging a double-double with 9.5 points and 9 rebounds per game.

CSUEB was picked to finish fourth in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Preseason Coaches Poll on Oct. 26. The Pioneers received 103 points to finish ahead of Cal State Dominguez Hills (101) and just behind third-place Cal Poly Pomona (106).
