LOS ANGELES, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay women's basketball team concluded their two-game California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) road trip with a, 70-62 loss to Cal State L.A. Saturday afternoon inside University Gym.

The Pioneers, who were on a two-game win streak, now falls to 15-8 overall on the season with a 11-6 mark in CCAA action.

Despite the outcome, East Bay was put forth a strong defensive effort as they held the Golden Eagles to just 35.8 percent shooting from the floor. In total, CSUEB forced 17 turnovers, including 12 steals and six blocks. But the Pioneers also struggled from the field and had problems of their own controlling the ball as they shot 34.3 percent from the floor, their fourth lowest mark of the season. East Bay also committed 17 turnovers that led to 30 points for CSULA.

Morgan Greene notched her three double-double of the season with 11 points and 16 rebounds. This was Greene's third time this season grabbing 16 rebounds in a game as she dissed out four assists for the second consecutive game.

Even with the outstanding performance on the glass by Greene, the Pios were narrowly edged in the rebounding column, 48-45. The Golden Eagles also out scored the Pioneers, 24-14 inside the painted area.

Kayley Hsiung finished with her second straight double figure scoring output, tallying a team-high 17 points and tying a career mark with five three-pointers made.
Madison Schiller compiled 10 points, six rebounds, two steals, a block and an assist in 31 minutes of action.

As they have done all season long, the East Bay reserves played a huge role in the contest outscoring the Cal State L.A. bench, 17-14 for the contest.
Zhane Duckett was responsible for 12 of the 17 points as she shot 5-for-9 from the field, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. The freshman from Oakland added five assists and four steals, both team-highs, to go along with two rebounds.

The Pioneers will return to action next Saturday with their final meeting of their "Battle of the Bays" matchup against rival Cal State Monterey Bay.
