HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay softball team picked up its first victory of the season on Saturday, knocking off Cal State San Bernardino, 3-0, behind a complete-game shutout by senior pitcher
Abby Greer.
A native of Beaverton, Ore., Greer pitched all seven innings and allowed just three hits while striking out three.

Emilie Portesi got the offense going in the second inning with an RBI single to right to drive home junior

Sydney Littles hit an RBI triple in the later in the inning to put the Pioneers on top 2-0.

Jeana Gonzales knocked in a run in the fifth inning, and later blasted her and the team's first home run of the season during a 12-3 loss in Game 2 of Saturday's double header. Gonzales' homer was a two-run shot in the third inning, while Portesi went 2-for-3 in the final game of the weekend.
Cal State East Bay (1-7, 1-3 CCAA) returns to action on Tuesday, Feb. 11, as the Pioneers play host to Academy of Art for a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
