CARSON, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay women's basketball team opened their trip to Southern California with a, 90-87 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills Thursday night inside the Torodome.

In total, the Pioneers had five players notch double figure scoring efforts as CSUEB improves to 11-5 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play with a 15-7 overall record on the season.

East Bay was lights out from the field as they finished the ball game shooting 47.6 percent from the field, including 55.6 percent from three-point range, their third highest mark of the season. In a game where the Pioneers led for for 33 minutes and led by as much as 16 points early in the fourth quarter, the Toros kept the contest close as they outscored CSUEB, 29-20 in the final quarter. The Pio sealed the deal with clutch shooting from the charity stripe down the stretch.

Senior guard
Madison Schiller notched a career-best 18 points on 7-for-11 shooting from the floor while going knocking down one three-pointer and converting all three of her foul shots. The Ridgecrest native added three rebounds, two assists and a block through 30 minutes of action.

Fellow senior
Kincso Kelemen also compiled a career-high 18 points on 4-of-6 shooting from three-point range and 6-of-7 accuracy from the free throw line. The Romanian also grabbed a career-best eight rebounds with an assist and a block.

Despite being out scored in the painted area, 38-34 the Pioneers narrowly out rebounded the Toros, 40-39 for the game. In a rare occurrence for CSUEB, the Dominguez Hills bench outscored the East Bay reserves, 46-25. The Pioneers defense was able to hold the Toros to just 42 percent shooting for the game. But it was the CSUDH defense that forced the Pios to commit 13 turnovers that turned into 17 points.

Morgan Greene finished with 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the floor with six rebounds and four assists.
Kayley Hsiung turned in 10 points, with a career high seven assists and seven rebounds.
Zhane Duckett paced the Pioneer reserves with 13 points on 4-for-6 shooting and 4-of-5 shooting from the free throw line.
Faith Turner grabbed a team-high nine rebounds to go with her five points in 20 minutes of action.

East Bay will continue their road trip with a February 8, Saturday afternoon matchup against Cal State L.A. in the Eagles Nest at 1:00.
