CHICO, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay softball team dropped two contests on the road against No. 5-ranked Chico State on Saturday afternoon at University Softball Field. 
Both games finished in 10-0 results after five innings of play.
Senior pitcher 
Abby Greer was charged with the Game 1-loss, while 
Anamaria Beard took the loss in Game 2.
Seniors 
Emilie Portesi, 
Jennifer Palmares and junior 
Jackie Najera each recorded one hit apiece, while Portesi also tallied her team-leading eighth stolen base of the season.
Freshman 
Kelsi Rice made her first-career appearance in the circle during the first game of the day.
CSUEB returns to action at home next weekend with a four-game series against Humboldt State on March 7-8 at Pioneer Field.
