HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay softball team split two more contests with rival Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday, winning the first game of the day 4-3 on Junior
Jeana Gonzales' walk-off RBI double, before falling short in a slugfest in Game 2, 11-5.
CSUEB (7-12, 5-7) splits this weekend's four-game "Battle of the Bays" series against the Otters, and is now 6-4 over its last 10.

Junior
Maddie Ramirez knotted the score 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh with an RBI double to right center, before Gonzales followed with an RBI double of her own to center to drive home Ramirez for the winning run.
Gonzales had RBI hits in both the first and seventh innings, while senior
Sarah Fukushima went 2-for-3 with a run scored and fellow senior
Bailee Glover had an RBI.
Senior pitcher
Abby Greer earned the win in the circle for the third time in her last four starts, allowing two earned runs on six hits in seven innings pitched.

The Pioneers came out hot in Game 2 behind Fukushima's RBI double in the bottom of the first and Ramirez's two-RBI double to right in the second, as CSUEB led 5-3.
Cal State Monterey Bay (10-6, 6-6) regained momentum in the third, however, and rode it out for a win to escape with a weekend split.
Fukushima and Ramirez both finished 2-for-4, while Ramirez also stole a base and freshman
Sydney Littles went 2-for-3.
The Pioneers return to action next weekend on the road with a four-game set against first-place Chico State.
