HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay softball team resumes conference play this week with a home series against "Battle of the Bays" rival Cal State Monterey Bay, with doubleheaders set for noon on Friday, Feb. 21, and Saturday, Feb. 22.
CSUEB (5-10, 3-5 CCAA) is coming off a good week, sweeping two home contests against Academy of Art on Feb. 11, before splitting a four-game road series at Stanislaus State on Feb. 14-15.
Pitching has led the way in the Pioneers' recent success as seniors
Abby Greer,
Bailee Glover and junior
Anamaria Beard each had great performances last week.
Greer two victories in the pitcher's circle and tossed three complete games, while striking out 15 batters in 18 innings pitched and allowing just four runs. The Beaverton, Ore., native posted a 1.56 ERA in three appearances last week, and has won three of her last four starts overall.
Glover tossed a complete-game one-hitter in a win over Academy of Art on Feb. 11, while Beard earned her first-career victory in the circle at Stanislaus State allowing one run on four hits while striking out seven on Feb. 15.
