Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TURLOCK, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay softball team was unable to get its offense going on Friday, as the Pioneers dropped a doubleheader at Stanislaus State on Friday evening.

CSUEB fell short in Game 1, 3-0, before dropped the second game of the day, 5-1.

The two teams will matchup again on Saturday afternoon, with Game 1 of the doubleheader scheduled for 12 p.m.

Stan State 3, CSUEB 0

Senior pitcher Abby Greer put together her third-consecutive quality start for the Pioneers, but it wasn't enough in a Game 1 defeat.

Greer threw six innings and allowed three earned runs on six hits while striking out six.

Senior Sarah Fukushima, senior Emilie Portesi and juniors Jackie Najera and Jeana Gonzales each recorded one hit apiece for the Pioneers.

Stan State 5, CSUEB 1

Junior Maddie Ramirez came through with an RBI double in the sixth inning to score senior Jennifer Palmares, but the Pioneers fell short in the nightcap of Friday's doubleheader.

Palmares started the inning with a single up the middle, and Najera followed with a bunt single to put two on with none out.

Fukushima's fielder's choice moved Palmares to third before Ramirez singled down the left-field line to cut the deficit to four, 5-1.

All four first-inning runs charged to CSUEB senior starting pitcher Bailee Glover were unearned. Junior Anamaria Beard came on in relief to start the bottom of the second, and pitched the remaining five innings allowing just one earned run on two hits while striking out two.

Sophomore Madi Greco had two hits for the Pioneers, including a double to start the top of the seventh inning.
