HAYWARD, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay women's volleyball team concluded their home opener with a 3-0 loss to UC San Diego Friday night, September 20 in Pioneer Gymnasium.
The Pioneers move to 1-8 on the season with a 0-1 mark in California Collegiate Athletic Association as they opened conference action tonight. CSUEB is 5-11 all-time against the Tritons including two consecutive losses.
Freshman
Jasmyne Love paced East Bay with nine kills. She added eight digs and finished with 12 points. Fellow freshman
Kara Green complied five kills to go along with two digs and six points.
Steena Hubbard and
Kelly Jing-min Markham both chipped in four kills. Hubbard led the Pioneers with four blocks.
Freshman
Eliza Cannon finished with a team best 17 assists. Cannon added three kills and 3.5 points.
Audrey Lamoureux tallied six assists and two digs.
Sarah Stevelinck notched a team high 16 digs with two assists, two points and a kill.
The Pioneers will continue CCAA action with a home matchup against Cal State San Marcos Saturday afternoon, September 21 inside Pioneer Gymnasium.
