HAYWARD, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay women's volleyball team wrapped up their California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) home opening weekend with a 3-0 defeat to the visiting Cal State San Marcos Saturday evening, September 21 in Pioneer Gymnasium.

With the loss, the Pioneers fall to 1-8 on the season with a 0-2 mark in conference action. CSUEB and CSUSM are now tied 3-3 all-time against one another.

East Bay was out-shot in the contest .292-.170 and the Cougars compiled 46 kills and 54 digs to just 27 kills and 39 digs from the Pioneers.

Sophomore
Tayler Templeman led the Pioneer offensive charge with seven kills. She added five digs and finished with a team high seven points.

Steena Hubbard and
Kara Green both tallied four kills each for the Pioneers. Hubbard chipped in an assist and notched five points and Green turned in four points.

Jasmyne Love paced the Pioneers with a team best 13 digs to go along with three kills and three points.
Sarah Stevelinck compiled eight digs.

Freshman
Eliza Cannon accumulated a game high 21 assists with eight digs and a kill. Cannon now has eight matches with double figure assists this season.

Cal State East Bay will return to action with another pair of home CCAA matches when they host Chico State on Friday night before facing off against Stanislaus State on Saturday night.
