RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. -- Cal State East Bay senior
Carolin Chang landed a spot on the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Tournament Team for the second straight year after finishing in fifth place this week at 2018-19 CCAA Women's Golf Championships.
Chang shot her best score of the tournament with an even-par 71 on Wednesday at Morgan Run Club & Resort to finish the 54-hole event at 220 (+7). She led the field with 39 total pars for the week. Chang was six strokes behind the individual champion, Jamie Jacob of Cal State San Marcos.Â
The host Cougars had the top three individuals and won their second straight team title by 21 strokes. Cal State East Bay shot 308 (+24) for the second day in a row in the third round and notched a fifth place team, finish with a total of 930 (+78). They beat Cal State LA handily and made up a couple strokes on fourth-place Chico State on Wednesday, but ultimately finished four behind the Wildcats.
Seniors
Lulu Huang and
Hafsa Khan both shot 79 in the final round of their careers, and the pair shared 23rd place in the overall field with a three-round total of 239 (+26). Freshman
Drishti Karumbaya battled through an injury during the first two rounds and had to withdraw from Wednesday's final round.
Chang still has a chance to qualify individually for NCAA Division II Regionals and will await the announcement of the tournament field in the coming days. Below are CSUEB's final individual scores.
