HAYWARD, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay women's basketball team improved to 3-0 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action after their victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills, 69-63, Thursday night inside Pioneer Gymnasium.

East Bay has now won six consecutive games as they improve to 7-2 overall on the season and remain unbeaten at home in Hayward (2-0).

The Pioneers came out on fire as they scored 44 first half points on just over 55 percent shooting from the field.
Faith Turner, who made her first start of the season, was a force in the opening half scoring 20 of her career high 23 points. Turner's 23 points were a game-high as she shot 10-of-16 from the field to go along with seven rebounds, an assist, a block and a steal in 30 minutes of action.

Morgan Greene compiled 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting with five rebounds and a perfect 2-for-2 mark from the foul line. Senior guard
Kayley Hsiung turned in a solid overall performance with five points and a team best eight rebounds to go along with three assists, a block and a steal.

The Toros, however, would make a run in the second half as they jumped out to a 7-0 run to kick start the third quarter. CSUDH would go on to outscore the East Bay, 30-23 in the second half, but it would not be enough to secure the victory. In total, Cal State East Bay outscored Dominguez Hills 38-30 on points inside the painted area. The Pioneers dominated the Toros on the glass as they ended the contest with a 44-27 rebounding advantage.

The East Bay defense finished with their fourth consecutive game holding an opponent under 40 percent shooting for the ball game as the Toros tallied a 36.9 percent shooting clip for the game, including 21.6 percent accuracy from three-point range.

The Pioneer reserves provided a spark for East Bay off the bench accumulating 22 total points.
Zhane Duckett led the charge with 10 points, four rebounds and four assists across 27 minutes off the bench.
Delia Moore added six points while dishing out a team high five assists with four rebounds.

The Pioneers will continue CCAAÂ action this weekend as they hit Interstate 80 for the first installment of this season's "Bay Bridge Battle" against conference rival SF State. They game will take place Saturday, December 7 at 5:30 p.m. in The Swamp.
