HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay men's basketball team put on a defensive clinic Thursday evening, earning an impressive home victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills, 72-48, at Pioneer Gymnasium.

Nai Carlisle had 12 points with nine rebounds and sophomore guard
Jesse Galloway finished with seven points, five rebounds, three assists and a career-high four steals.
Cal State East Bay (6-3, 2-1 CCAA) held Cal State Dominguez Hills to just 31 percent shooting from the field and forced the Toros (6-3, 2-1) into 21 turnovers. Meanwhile, the Pioneers racked up 16 assists, had 27 points off turnovers and finished with 28 points off the bench.
"We locked in defensively," said Vigil. "(CSUDH) is a really good team with a lot of really good shooters. We locked into the (scouting report). We know we can score, so it's really all about defense. We got it done tonight."
After leading 34-22 at halftime, CSUEB pushed the lead to 21 after Galloway's 3-pointer and consecutive baskets by Carlisle with just over three minutes left to play.
The Pioneers return to action this Saturday, Dec. 7, as they head across the Bay Bridge to take on rival San Francisco State beginning at 7:30 p.m.
