TURLOCK, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay women's basketball team wrapped up the Warrior Classic with a commanding, 82-32 victory over Holy Names, Saturday afternoon in the Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena.

With the win, the Pioneers move to 2-2 on the season and leave Turlock with a 1-1 showing in the Warrior Classic. It was CSUEB's fourth consecutive win over Holy Names and second straight win over the Hawks on a neutral floor.

East Bay executed a dominant defensive effort on Saturday as they held Holy Names to just 20.8% shooting for the contest. The Hawks managed to just 10 made field goals and went 3-for-17 from three-point range. The Pioneers, meanwhile, shot 50.8% from the the field for the game. They were especially hot in last two periods, hitting at 67.7% for the second half of action.

The game became one-sided early on, as the Pioneers came out firing and the Hawks struggled to make shots from the opening tip. After Holy Names scored on back-to-back possessions to make it 7-7 midway through the first quarter, the teams went to a media timeout. After the timeout, the Pioneers finished the quarter on a 10-2 run.

The Pioneers kept that momentum going and played perhaps their most impressive period of defense so far this season in the second quarter. The Pioneers held the Hawks to just three points, with the Holy Names failing to score for the final 3:53 of the first half. After a quarter in which they out-scored Holy Names 13-3, the Pioneers took a 30-12 lead into halftime.

Facing a huge deficit and unable to string together a scoring run, the Hawks never managed to mount a serious comeback. East Bay scored a season best 29 points in the third quarter as they continued to defend with intensity, and it was plenty enough to cruise to the 50-point win.

Every Pioneer player contributed points in the ball game.
Morgan Greene led all scorers with 12 points on 5-for-9 shooting and four rebounds.

A trio of East Bay starters finished with nine points each.
Madison Schiller compiled nine points with three rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Kincso Kelemen tallied nine points knocking down 3-of-5 shots from beyond the arc.
Regina Sankey scored nine points with three rebounds and a steal.

Kayley Hsiung filled up the score sheet with two points and rebounds to go along with six assists and four steals, both team highs.
Delia Moore added seven points, five assists, four steals and three assists.
Zhane Duckett chipped in seven points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists.

With four non-conference games already under their belt, the Pioneers will now shift their focus to CCAA action with games against Cal State L.A. and Chico State on the schedule for next week.
