ARCATA, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay men's cross country team earned a seventh-place overall team finish at the 2019 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships Saturday morning at Baywood Golf and Country Club.
CSUEB earned 220 points to finish behind Humboldt State (177) and ahead of San Francisco State (236). Chico State won the team title with 33 total points.
Senior
Esteban Leon was the first Pioneer to cross the finish line, placing 32nd overall with a time of 26-minutes, 12.72-seconds in the men's 8K.
Sophomore
Xavier Smith earned 37th overall with a mark of 26:24.77, sophomore
Bryan Llopis placed 53rd overall in 27:06.07 and sophomore
Luke Calubayan was 57th in 27:13.74.
The Pioneers' best team finish all-time is fourth, while the best individual finish is 13th.
Cal State East Bay returns to action at the NCAA West Regional, set for Nov. 9 in Monmouth, Ore.
