East Bay Wins Series Over Cal Poly Pomona 3-1 With 3-1 Victory at Pioneer Field

HAYWARD, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay baseball team closed their four game California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) home series against Cal Poly Pomona with a, 3-1 win at Pioneer Field Monday afternoon, April 9.
 
The victory gave the Pioneers a, 3-1 series victory as East Bay improved to 17-17 on the season with a 14-14 mark in conference action.
 
CSUEB senior Jacob Call (W, 2-3) (Fremont, Calif.) garnered his second win of the season after leading the Pioneers through six innings of action. Call registered two strikeouts while walking one Bronco and only allowing one run scored.
 
The East Bay offense backed up the Pioneer pitching staff well recorded eight hits on the afternoon. The Pioneers scored the first two runs of the game in the third inning and added another in the bottom of the seventh.
 
Raymond Jones (San Diego, Calif.) and Joey Dice (Reno, Nev.) both paced East Bay with multi-hit performances. Jones knocked in a RBI double and scored a run as well. Dice added two hits, including a triple and a run scored.
 
Adam Hollar (Livermore, Calif.), Colt Parshall (Oakdale, Calif.), Aaron Albaum (San Carlos, Calif.) and Matt Cantelme (Fair Oaks, Calif.) all chipped in one hit apiece for Cal State East Bay.
 
Dakota Conner (Manteca, Calif.) and Jacob Eder (Prescott, Ariz.) both finished with one RBI each for CSUEB.
 
Jacob Nelson (Jefferson, Wisc) got the start on the mound for CSUEB and only allowing one hit in his only inning of work. Freshman Stas Kuntz (Fremont, Calif.) also gave up one hit in his inning on the mound. Mark Woinarowicz (Yorba Linda, Calif.) fanned two batters without giving up any walks or hits through his inning of action.
 
The Pioneers will hit the road for a trip to Southern California with a four game road series against Cal State Dominguez Hills scheduled.
