HAYWARD, Calif., -- Senior
Colt Parshall (Oakdale, Calif.) pelted a walk-off single through the right side to secure the 3-2 victory for the Cal State East Bay baseball team in their California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) series opener over Cal State San Marcos Friday afternoon, March 23 at Pioneer Field.

With the series opening win the Pioneers move to 11-12 on the season with an 8-9 mark in conference action.

CSUEB struggled to find their offense early as they the Cougars got on the scoreboard first with a run in the opening inning of action. East Bay would register a hit until the top of the fourth inning but it proved to be right on time

The Pioneers would go on the rally to finish the outing with nine hits total led by a team-best three hits from senior catcher
Dallas Dey (Tustin, Calif.). Dey added a run scored, a RBI, a double and a stolen base during the contest.

Fellow seniors
Raymond Jones (San Diego, Calif.) and
Colt Parshall also turned in mutli-hit performances for CSUEB. Jones finished with two hits, an RBI and also scored a run. Parshall compiled two hits and the game winning RBI.

Paul Bryniarski (Fountain Hills, Ariz.) and
Adam Hollar (Livermore, Calif.) both chipped in hits for the Pioneers while
Evan Steele (Clovis, Calif.) scored a run for CSUEB.

East Bay entered the final inning of action trailing San Marcos 2-1 before powering back for the victory.
Raymond Jones opened the inning by reaching base on an error by the Cougars second basemen.
Dallas Dey followed with an RBI double through the left side scoring Jones. After Dey advanced on a wild pitch
Colt Parshall stepped to plate and singled through the right side bringing home Dey and locking the series opening win for the Pioneers.

Senior
Andrew Fernandez (Castro Valley, Calif.) got the start on the mound for East Bay and allowed only run through one inning.
Jordan Milligan (San Jose, Calif.) and
Ransome Alexander (Fullerton, Calif.) both saw an inning of work on the mound for CSUEB and compiled a one punchout apiece. R.J. Hanson (La Honda, Calif.) (W, 4-1) recorded a team-high five strikeouts through six innings of action while only giving up one walk and one run.

East Bay will continue their series with San Marcos with a March 24, Saturday doubleheader with the opening pitch set for noon at Pioneer Field.
