HAYWARD, Calif.,-- The Cal State East Bay men's basketball team concluded their Homecoming weekend with a huge, 59-45 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) win over Cal State Dominguez Hills Saturday night, February 10 in Pioneer Gymnasium.

With the win the Pioneers snapped a nine game conference losing streak to move to 5-15 in conference action and 9-17 overall on the season. East Bay also swept the season series over the Toros after defeating them back in November in Carson.

The Pioneers were in control of the game from the opening tip as the Toros never led in the contest. East Bay' stout defensive presence held Dominguez Hills to just 23.4% (15-for64), including 13.6% (3-for-22) from beyond the arc. Both were season-best marks for the East Bay defense.

The Pioneers didn't have the best shooting night, as they combined to go 38.2% (21-for-55) from the field. East Bay didn't let that slow them down as they increased their 28-17 halftime advantage to a 25-point lead midway through the final half of play.

Despite the outstanding team performance, no Pioneer scored in double figures as every East Bay player contributed equally to the winning cause. Senior center
Kyle Frakes (Thousand Oak, Calif.) finished with eight points and tied a game-high with 11 rebounds on 4-for-7 shooting from the floor. Freshman
Keshawn Bruner (Sacramento, Calif.) also notched eight points, five rebounds and a block on a 4-for-5 shooting clip.

East Bay dominated Dominguez Hills in almost every facet of the ball game. The Pioneers completed the game with a, 45-41 rebounding advantage while also outscoring the Toros, 30-22 inside the painted area. The Pioneers also scored nine points off nine turnovers from CSUDH.

The East Bay reserves poured in 25 points to just 17 points from the Dominguez Hills bench. Sophomore
Druce Asah (Tracy, Calif.) led the Pioneer bench with a team-best nine points, two rebounds and a steal on 23 minutes on the court.
Wyatt Maker (Salinas, Calif.) added six points, five rebounds and two assists on 3-for-4 shooting for the night.

Jordan Balser (Auburn, Calif.) chipped in six points, two rebounds and a steal in 13 reserve minutes while
Deiondre Bird (Portland, Ore.) added four points and four rebounds in 13 minutes off the bench.

Drew Bender (Phoenix, Ariz.) compiled seven points, six rebounds and two assists on 30 minutes on the court.
Jelani Mitchell (Pasadena, Calif.) poured in six points and grabbed four rebounds in 29 minutes of action. Junior guard
Juwan Anderson (Oakland, Calif.) posted five points, a game-best four assists with two rebounds and two steals for East Bay.

The Pioneers will return to action Saturday night, February 17 for their final home game of the season against Cal State Monterey Bay It will be Senior Night as the Pioneers will honor their seniors in their last game in Pioneer Gymnasium. Tipoff will be at 7:30 p.m.
