SAN FRANCISCO
-- The Cal State East Bay women's cross country team competed Friday afternoon in the SF State Invitational at Golden Gate Park's Speedway Meadows.

The Pioneers did not register a team score, as they only entered four runners with the rest of the squad scheduled to run next weekend at Sacramento State. It was nonetheless a solid early-season effort for those four East Bay women against an 11-team field that included some of the top schools in the West.

Freshman Rosalva Quevado led the way for CSUEB in just her second collegiate meet. She completed the 6k course in 24:58.2 to place 60th overall.

Sophomore Alondra Castro Ortiz finished 72nd with a time of 25:19.2, followed closely by junior Taryn Stevenson in 74th place in 25:22.5.

Freshman Jodi Go rounded out the Pioneers's afternoon by taking 84th overall, crossing the finish line in 26:13.4.
