ROHNERT PARK, Calif. -- The Cal State East Bay women's golf team took seventh place out of 12 teams at the 2017 Sonoma State Spring Invitational after shooting 332 (+44) in Tuesday's final round to finish the 36-hole tournament at 654 (+78).Â
The host Seawolves were team champions at 616 (+30), followed by Cal State Monterey Bay in second place (+57).
Julia Youn led the way for the Pioneers with a seventh place finish individually. She shot 82 (+10) in the second round for a total score of 157 (+13) six strokes behind the individual medalist.
Kelsi Valenzuela also carded 82 (+10) on Tuesday to finish in a tie with nine other golfers for 15th place at 162 (+18).
Taylor Wyss was the third Pioneer to turn in an 82 (+1), putting her three strokes back of Valenzuela at 165 (+21) in a tie for 31st place.
The fourth contribution to the CSUEB team score came from
Jamie Enseki, who shot 86 (+14) for the second straight day. She placed 49th in the overall field of 69 golfers with a total of 172 (+28).
Sienna Starck rounded out the team performance with a 91 (+19) in round two and finished the week in 53rd place at 175 (+31).Â
Competing individually,
Hafsa Khan stumbled a bit after an impressive round on Monday. She carded 94 (+22) to earn a share of 50th place at 173 (+29) overall.Â
The Pioneers have just one regular season tournament remaining on their 2016-17 schedule. Next week, they'll travel to Arizona for the Western New Mexico Mustang Intercollegiate Apr. 10-11.
