HAYWARD, Calif. – The Cal State East Bay softball team will return to Pioneer Softball Field for a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) home series against Stanislaus State. The Pioneers play doubleheaders against the Warriors on Thursday, March 23 at 1:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 25 beginning at 12:00 noon.
East Bay will enter the matchup with a 14-12 record overall and a 10-12 mark in CCAA play.
WEEK IN REVIEW
CSUEB won its weekend series over Cal State Dominguez Hills 3-1 in impressive fashion. Freshman
Abby Greer pitched a complete game shutout as the Pioneers won 13-0.
Sarah Fukushima also highlighted the weekend with four homeruns through three games. Fukushima finished the weekend going 8-for-16 with seven runs scored and eight RBIs.
East Bay scored at least 12 runs in all three of their wins and only five runs in their only loss of the series.

Haley Keahi also tuned in career performances this over the weekend.
Courtney Leyba completed the series by going 8-for-16 with six runs scored, four RBIs and two stolen bases. She went 4-for-5 from the plate with two runs scored in the opening game game of action.
Ashley Allen went 8-for-16 for CSUEB with six runs, three RBIs and a stolen base. Allen turned in a couple multi-hit outing through the series including a career best four hits with three runs scored, two RBIs and a stolen base in the Pioneers 13-10 victory to close the opening day doubleheader. She also blasted a lead-off home run in East Bay's 13-0 shutout victory.
Haley Keahi complied eight hits on 16 plate visits with two runs and two RBIs. Keahi tallied a career-high four hits with a RBI and one run scored in East Bay in a 13-10 win. She also accumulated another two-hit performance in the Pioneers 12-8 series finale win.

Jennifer Palmares have been key players for the East Bay softball team this season.
Abby Greer is 9th in the CCAA with 2.08 ERA with a 7-6 record. She has tossed 84.1 innings, 4th in the CCAA, with seven complete games, which is good for 7th in the in the conference. Greer's 37 strikeouts lead the Pioneers and are 9th in the CCAA. She has struck out 20 batters looking which is tops in the conference. Her three shutouts are currently 3rd in the CCAA.
Sarah Fukushima is now tied for the conference lead with nine home runs after four homers over the weekend. Fukushima is 6th in the CCAA with a .691 slugging percentage and a.333 batting average. Fukushima has 27 hits, 23 runs scored and a team leading 56 total bases. Her 23 RBIs are 4th in the CCAA.
Emilie Portesi has a .260 batting average with a .260 batting average with a .429 slugging percentage. Portesi has compiled 20 hits, 13 runs scored, 12 RBIs and 33 total bases. She is also tied for 10th in the conference with three home runs.
Olivia McWhorter has appeared in 12 games and is 2nd on East Bay with seven starts and 2nd with 19 strikeouts. She has a 4.83 ERA with a 4-5 record. McWhorter has tossed 46.1 innings with three complete games.
Jennifer Palmares currently 2nd on team a .344 batting average and a .547 slugging percentage. Palmares has tallied 22 hits, scored 16 runs, 35 total bases and 13 RBIs. She has four doubles and has hit three homers on the season.
HUGE VETERAN PRESENCE
While several freshmen have displayed fantastic play in their first season at East Bay the upperclassmen have also provided the leadership threw action for the young Pioneers.
Junior
Ashley Allen is 18th in the conference batting .369 which leads CSUEB. She has 24 hits and 20 runs scored. Allen has compiled 28 total bases, seven RBIs and a .431 slugging percentage with one home run.
Senior
Marisa Lerma leads the CCAA with a .531 on-base percentage and 13 hit by pitches. Lerma is batting .338 through 26 games. She has 23 hits, which is 5th in the conference, nine runs, 23 RBIs, 34 total bases and two home run blasts. She is slugging .500 so far on the season. Lerma is also 5th in the CCAA with 15 walks.
Sophomore
Tanya Galvan has added 24 hits, 15 runs scored, 13 RBIs and 28 total bases. She has a .338 batting average and a .394 slugging percentage. Galvan is tied for 9th in the conference with one triple in 23 games on the year.
Senior
Ali Cerminara, the all-time leader in home runs, added to her career mark with three homers on the season (27). She is 8th all-time with 30 doubles and is 4th all-time with 105 RBIs. She is batting .291 with 23 hits, 12 runs scored, 15 RBIs, 34 total bases and a .430 slugging percentage.
Sophomore
Courtney Leyba is 7th on the Pioneers with a .316 batting average. She is 4th in the team with a .434 slugging percentage. Leyba has compiled 24 hits, 18 runs scored, 17 RBIs and 33 total bases through 22 games played. She is tied for the team lead with six doubles.
Sophomore
Bailee Glover has a record of 3-1 on the season as she has appeared in 16 games making six starts. She is 25th the CCAA with a 4.45 ERA through 39.1 innings pitched. Glover is third on the Pioneers with 18 strikeouts and has one save and two complete games so far on the season.

East Bay is currently second in the conference with 22 home runs The Pioneers are currently 3rd with 154 runs scored, 4th with 316 total bases and a .429 slugging percentage, which ranks 5th in the conference.
CSUEB is 5th in the CCAA with a .297 batting average, 4th with 219 hits and 2nd with 136 RBIs.
East Bay is 9th in the CCAA with a 3.38 team ERA and 8th with a 170.0 innings tossed. The Pioneers are 7th in the conference with 74 strikeouts and tied for 5th with 14 wins.
SCOUTING CAL STANISLAUS STATE
The Warriors had their midweek series against Cal State Monterey Bay postponed due to unfavorable weather. They are 12-14 on the season and 8-12 in CCAA play. Stanislaus State is batting .301 with a .349 on-base percentage with eight players batting at least .300. The Warriors pitching staff has a 3.29 team ERA with 69 strikeouts. Alexus Martinez leads the Warriors with a .396 batting average with 38 hits, 20 runs scored, nine RBIs and 42 total bases. Kylie Ragsdale has recorded seven wins on the mound with 22 strikeouts through 70.0 innings pitched.
When the teams last met in 2016, Stanislaus State swept the season series 0-4 over the Pioneers at Warrior Softball Field.
