HAYWARD, Calif.-- Cal State East Bay will take their show on the road as they play their next 10 games away from the East Bay. They will start with a CCAA tussle with UC San Diego in La Jolla, Calif.

The Pioneers stand at 6-12 in the CCAA and 9-15 overall after dropping four games to San Francisco State Tuesday and Wednesday. All the games were very competitive, as indicated by the Gators only outscoring the Pioneers 18-12, but nonetheless the Pioneers came up two runs short in both games Tuesday and one run short in both games Wednesday.

Senior Rose Marston maintained her .400+ average by going 4 for 10 in the series with the Gators. Marston average sits at .403 to put her sixth in the CCAA in the category. Junior Ali Cerminara went 3 for 12 with three RBI's in the SF State series, and upped her batting average to .328. Cerminara has 20 RBI's, which is good for an eighth-place tie in the CCAA in that category.

Freshman Annissa Gonzalez is showed the power she possesses as she launched a grand slam over the left-field wall in game one Tuesday against the Gators. Gonzalez has two home runs in 14 at bats this season.

The pitching of the Pioneers has been good most of the season. Senior Sierra Clark pitched a stellar game two against the Gators, going the distance in allowing one earned run on two hits with five strikeouts. Clark's ERA checks-in at 2.58. In game two Wednesday, senior Tatiana Beilstein gave up 10 hits but only allowed two earned run to see her ERA go to 2.60 heading into UC San Diego series.

The Tritons come into the series with the Pioneers losing three out of four to Cal State Monterey Bay Monday and Tuesday in Seaside. Their CCAA mark is 12-8 and they are 18-10 overall.

The Tritons Maddie Lewis is batting .434 on the season and is first amongst conference hitters with at least 50 at bats. Lewis also leads her team in RBI's with 22 and is third in the conference in tha statistic.

Lexi Edwards is the top pitcher for the Tritons, with a 2.00 ERA in 73.1 innings with 43 strikeouts. She has a 7-3 record with three saves.

After the series with UC San Diego, East Bay will participate in the Stanislaus State Tournament of Champions Friday, April 1-Sunday, April 3. The Pioneers will play doubleheaders each of the three days they are in Turlock.
