HAYWARD, Calif – Cal State East Bay men's basketball head coach
Gus Argenal has announced the inking of three future Pioneers during the 2016 Fall period for the 2017-18 season.
Justin Vigil, Keshawn Bruner and Bobby Santos all have chosen to sign their national letters of intent to play for CSUEB.
Justin Vigil is a 6'7 senior forward who plays for Fall River High School in McArthur for Coach Scott Gallion. Virgil played his AAU basketball for the Nor Cal Pharaohs coached by Jason Barton. In his first game back from a broken arm as a junior Vigil scored 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
As a junior, Justin averaged 15.1 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.6 steals per outing.
Justin Vigil was awarded All-Shasta Cascade League as a freshman, sophomore and junior. He was MVP of the Trinity Holiday Classic and the Block F Tournament during his junior season.
"Justin is a high level student-athlete with a discipline and toughness that truly separates him from others," said head coach
Gus Argenal. "He is blossoming as a young player and I see his best basketball coming in the near future. He is a rugged defender, skilled offensive threat, and relentless going after rebounds. He is a perfect match for our needs in the coming years."
Keshawn Bruner is a 6'3 wing out of Luther Burbank High School, in the Sacramento area, he plays for Coach Lindsey Ferrell. Bruner played AAU with Play Hard Play Smart led by Coach Brian Hamilton.
Throughout Keshawn's sophomore and junior years on varsity he is averaging a combined 17 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
As a sophomore Keshawn scored 35 points against Hiram Johnson High School in an 81-67 win. Keshawn was awarded 1st-Team All-Metro League in the 2015 and 2016. Bruner received All-Tourney honors as a freshman at the West Campus Classic. He was the MVP of the Sheldon Adidas Tournament and as a sophomore he earned the "Titan of the Year Award" as he lead the team in scoring and rebounding.

Gus Argenal said. "He has the ability to finish above the rim on offense and also rebound and defends at an elite level. We have watched him grow as a player and see him becoming a vital piece to the future of our program."
Bobby Santos is a 6'0 guard from Valley Christian High School where he plays for the highly respected Mark DeLuca. Bobby is a four-year varsity player and three-year starter. Santos played AAU for Team Arsenal headed by program director Kelvin Potts.
Throughout his high school campaign Santos is averaging 12 points, 5.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds as well as earning WCAL All-League honors.
"Bobby is as tough and tenacious as players come, said Argenal. "He is a floor leader and someone that fits the mold of a Pioneer point guard. He is a lights out shooter and makes plays for other around him. His spirit, energy, and passion are going to be contagious when he arrives on campus. I can't wait to coach him."

Gus Argenal was excited to the new crop of talent that will be headed for the hills of the Cal State East Bay campus in 2017-18.
"We have been extremely focused on not only getting talented student- athletes but young men that come from quality programs and great families," Argenal said. "These three signees embody the type of people the at represent our campus community and our basketball family."
