SAN MARCOS, Calif. -- The Cal State East Bay women's golf team wrapped up the Fall season with an impressive performance in the final round of the Cal State San Marcos Fall Classic at Twin Oaks Golf Course. The Pioneers shot 314 (+26) on Tuesday, improving their total by seven strokes from the first round to end up in fifth place.
CSUEB finished with a 36-hole total of 635 (+59), topping eight schools in the 13-team event.Â
Senior
Julia Youn turned in her second straight solid round to notch her first top-10 finish of the year. She carded 76 (+4) to finish the two-day tournament at 153 (+9), tied for ninth place in the overall field of 67 golfers.Â
Taylor Wyss fired the low round of the day for East Bay, carving 10 strokes off her score from Monday with a 75 (+3). The junior moved up 22 spots in the leaderboard to finish tied for 23rd overall.Â
Ariel Caro shot 80 (+8) to finish with a share of 29th place at 161 (+17). Fellow sophomore
Hafsa Khan contributed the fourth score to the team total with an 83 (+11), giving her a total of 165 (+21) and a tie for 35th place.
Junior
Sienna Starck carded 87 (+15) on Tuesday to end up tied for 44th place with a total of 168 (+24).
The Pioneers have now completed their Fall schedule, and will look ahead to the Spring as they battle for positioning in the West Region. The team's next competition will be the Lady Rattler Invitational on Feb. 13-14, hosted by St. Mary's University of San Antonio, Texas.
