The game was close going into the third quarter, but wasn't close for long. The Pioneers scored 13 of the first 17 points of the second half to open up a 39-28 lead and weren't threatened the rest of the way.
Cal State East Bay carried a 43-35 lead into the fourth quarter and then slammed the door on the game with the 23 point advantage in the final quarter.
"We played a very solid second half. We defended as one solid unit and that fueled our offense", said Cal State East Bay Head Coach
Suzy Barcomb.
The Pioneers played well on both ends of the floor seeing four players score in double-figures, holding the Gators to 29.8 percent (14-47) shooting, and winning the rebounding battle 41-26.
"When we have balanced scoring and everyone hitting the glass, we are playing our type of basketball," said Barcomb.

Tori Breshers had 13 points, nine rebounds, and a game-high four steals. She also notched two blocks, adding her to program record total.
