HAYWARD, Calif. – Cal State East Bay women's basketball will look to sweep the season series against two California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) squads. The Pioneers will be on the road Thursday, Feb. 6, against Humboldt State, and Saturday, Feb. 8, versus No. 16 Cal Poly Pomona.

"We take on two hot teams that are playing at a very high level. We have our work cut out for us this weekend," said East Bay Head Coach Suzy Barcomb. "The CCAA is challenging enough, but this road trip is brutal, for the universities located in the middle of the state."

Cal State East Bay at Humboldt State – Thursday, Feb. 6
East Bay enjoyed a 61-44 win inside Pioneer Gymnasium back on Jan. 4. Brianna Terrance led the offense with 17 points, and Danielle Peacon notched her first double-double with the Pioneers going for 12 points and 10 rebounds.

It was the only time the Humboldt State offense was held to under 60 points this season. Elle Anderson led the Jacks with 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the floor. However HSU was on the short end of the turnover battle (18-9) and free throws made (16-5).

Cal State East Bay has won four straight overall against Humboldt State and has not lost to HSU since December 2011. CSUEB will look to right the ship after dropping back-to-back games for the first time this season since opening the year at the CCA Division II Tip-Off Classic in early November.

"(Humboldt State) has great guard and inside post play. (Lumberjack Arena) is a difficult gym (to play in) with great fan support," said Coach Barcomb. The Jacks are 4-3 at home this season and coming off back-to-back road wins against Cal State San Bernardino and UC San Diego.

Humboldt State is one of three league squads with a 7-7 mark through 14 CCAA contests. The three teams are one game behind UC San Diego at 8-6 for the final post-season conference tournament berth with just eight games left in the regular season.

Cal State East Bay at #16 Cal Poly Pomona – Saturday, Feb. 8
In arguably the team's most impressive game of the season, Cal State East Bay routed now ranked No. 16 Cal Poly Pomona 83-58 in the Jan. 3 meeting. The Pioneers shot over 56 percent as a team and had five different players score at least 11 points.

East Bay's Stephanie Lopez was one of two players with double-doubles recording 12 points and 11 assists. It was the third win in the past four meetings for the Pioneers over the Broncos.

Jada Blackwell (17.0 ppg) and Ariel Marsh (16.6 ppg) are the top two scorers in the CCAA and lead the league's top scoring offense. The Broncos are averaging nearly 75 points per contest this season.

"(Pomona) is a nationally ranked opponent who is firing on all cylinders. They have so many offensive weapons," said Barcomb. In addition, the Pioneers will head into hostile territory as East Bay ventures onto the Cal Poly Pomona campus during its Homecoming Weekend.

Cal Poly Pomona is 8-2 inside Kellogg Gym this season and has won three straight heading into the weekend. The Broncos will take on Cal State Monterey Bay (4-13, 1-13 CCAA) on Thursday, prior to hosting the Pioneers on Saturday night.
