HAYWARD, Calif. – Cal State East Bay will close out the regular season on the road with a pair of California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) games. Victories against San Francisco State on Friday, and Sonoma State the following night would clinch a berth into the CCAA Post-Season Tournament.

The Pioneers will be looking to repeat their earlier performances against the Gators and Seawolves from late January. A win over S.F. State would sweep the season series, eliminate the Gators from playoff contention, and push East Bay one step closer to its third straight CCAA Tournament appearance.
"It's been a roller coaster season and we finish with two road contests. We are guaranteed nothing, except that we have two more CCAA games," said Head Coach
Suzy Barcomb. "We need to play to our potential and take care of ourselves, and that is the only thing we can control."
Cal State East Bay at San Francisco State (Friday, Feb. 28)
The Pioneers have dominated the 'Battle of the Bay' rivalry in recent times winning the past five meetings. It is in stark contrast to the beginning of the series when the Gators won four in a row after East Bay joined the CCAA.
In the earlier meeting this season Cal State East Bay scored 47 first half points and led by as many as 31 in the second half.
Danielle Peacon finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds, and was the main contributor to a 40-28 advantage on the glass. She was one of four Pioneers to score in double figures as East Bay outscored San Francisco State 42-22 in the paint.
S.F. State (14-12, 10-10 CCAA) is a different team on its home floor posting a 10-4 record at The Swamp this season. The Gators enter the weekend after back-to-back road losses to UC San Diego and Cal State San Bernardino.
"(SFSU) is a force on its home court and visiting teams have not fared well in The Swamp. San Francisco State has scoring threats from inside and outside, and we will have to be focused on each possession," said Barcomb.
Katie Batlin continues to lead the S.F. State squad averaging 14.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.7 steals per contest. Against East Bay she finished with just five points, two rebounds, three assists, one steal, and seven turnovers.
Cal State East Bay at Sonoma State (Saturday, March 1)
Post-season implications will likely be on the line in the Pioneers final game of the season at Sonoma State. The last time Cal State East Bay left The Wolves' Den it was a 63-50 victory for the home side back on Dec. 1, 2012.
"Every CCAA game being played this weekend has playoff implications. Some dust will settle after the
Friday night contests (around the league), but things could get very interesting," stated Barcomb.
Three of Sonoma State's four wins this season have come at home. The Seawolves outlasted Humboldt State 56-55 in their most recent home contest.
"(Sonoma State) has played teams very tough on their home court. Â It will be the final league game for both squads and their 'Senior Night.'Â Emotions will be running high and we will have our hands full," said Barcomb of Saturday's opponent.
SSU is near the bottom of the CCAA averaging just 54.8 points in 20 league contests this season. The CSUEB offense has been held to under 55 points in only 4-of-20 conference games this year.
The Pioneers offense is averaging nearly 66 points per game in league play, led by 15.7 points from
Brianna Terrance. She is one of four East Bay players to average double-digit scoring in league play alongside
Stephanie Lopez (12.1), Peacon (12.0), and
Tori Breshers (10.5)
Tanner Adams leads Sonoma State and ranks sixth in the CCAA with 44 made 3-pointers. Over 70 percent of her shots (116-of-165) are taken from beyond the arc. Teammate Kristina Fahey leads the squad averaging 10.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.3 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game.
