HAYWARD, Calif. – This weekend's games inside Pioneer Gymnasium will be the final home contests for the Cal State East Bay women's basketball team this season. It will also be the final home games in the careers of seniors Brianna Terrance and Rachel Finnegan as the Pioneers take on Cal State Stanislaus and Chico State.

All three teams are in the hunt for a top six spot and a trip to the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Post-Season Tournament. Chico State (16-6, 12-6 CCAA) is in a three-way tie for second place and Cal State Stanislaus (13-9, 10-8 CCAA) in a three-way tie for fifth. Cal State East Bay (12-13, 9-9 CCAA) sits one game back in eighth place with four regular season contests remaining.

Cal State East Bay vs. Cal State Stanislaus
The Warriors snapped their five game losing streak to the Pioneers with a 68-63 win in the Jan. 18 meeting. Stanislaus won a back-and-forth contest that included 23 lead changes and a tie score on six occasions.

Briana Cotton knocked down half of the team's 3-pointers going 4-for-6 from distance to score all 12 of her points. Lauren Goode scored 13 points to lead the Warriors and currently leads her team averaging over 14 points per game this season.

After a four game losing streak the Warriors have bounced back to win three of their last four. Most recently they are coming off a 73-66 road win over Cal State L.A. on Saturday, Feb. 15.

"Stanislaus is playing at a very high level and have a very athletic team that plays incredibly well with one another," praised East Bay Head Coach Suzy Barcomb about Friday's opponent. "They have a great deal of chemistry on the floor and they play hard for one another."

Cal State East Bay is looking to bring an abrupt end to its current six game skid heading into the weekend. The Pioneers have played tough with all six losses suffered by nine points or less. CSUEB enters Friday's game on the heels of a 59-50 loss to UC San Diego.

Prior to the team's recent struggles the Pioneers averaged 68.9 points per game offensively on nearly 44 percent shooting from the field, while holding the opposition to just 60.7 points per game through 19 contests. Over the last six East Bay is scoring 58.8 points on less than 36 percent shooting, while opponents are scoring 65.8 points per contest.

Cal State East Bay vs. Chico State
Seniors Brianna Terrance and Rachel Finnegan will be honored during pre-game ceremonies as Saturday's contest will be their last inside Pioneer Gymnasium. Terrance is a four-year member of the Pioneers who has set the all-time made field goals record and ranks among the East Bay all-time top-10 in multiple categories. Finnegan is a two-year transfer from San Jose State who posted her first career double-double this past Saturday against UC San Diego.

The Pioneers picked up their first road win over Chico State since joining the CCAA back on Jan. 17. It was arguably one of Danielle Peacon's better games posting 16 points and 16 rebounds in the 64-61 win. Overall East Bay was plus-11 on the boards and outscored the Wildcats 40-24 in the paint.

Chico State has won eight of its last nine and most recently took down Cal State Dominguez Hills 54-51 on Saturday, Feb. 15. The CSU defense held the Toros to just 18 second half points to pull off the second half comeback victory.

"Chico State is a proven winning program that plays for the entire 40 minutes.  They have been down this road before and are playing with a sense of urgency," said Barcomb.
