Box Score HAYWARD, Calif. – For just the second time in eight games this season Cal State East Bay exited Pioneer Gymnasium in defeat. Cal State San Bernardino, a team with only four wins in conference play, has earned half of its CCAA victories against the Pioneers after sweeping the season series on Thursday.
Cal State East Bay was in position to either win it in regulation or go to overtime with possession of the ball in the final seconds and the scored tied 71-71. Coyotes junior Briana Baker stole the ball near the top of the key, drove the length of the court and scored the game-winning layup with :01.0 remaining.

Cal State East Bay was in the double bonus near the 12 minute mark of the second period and earned 21 of its 33 trips to the free throw line in the half. The Pioneers knocked down just 10-of-21 over the final 20 minutes and 19-of-33 for the game.
Cal State East Bay had a solid shooting night from the floor going 23-for-46 (.500) overall and 6-for-11 (.545) from beyond the arc. However Cal State San Bernardino (5-15, 4-13 CCAA) took 22 more shots and grabbed a total of 15 offensive boards, converting those rebounds in 17 second chance points. The Coyotes did most of their damage from close range outscoring the Pioneers 48-30 in the paint.
Tatiana Dunlap came off the bench to lead all players with 22 points featuring an 8-for-9 shooting performance from the floor and 5-for-6 at the charity stripe. She completed her double-double with a game-high 10 rebounds including five on the offensive end.
Brianna Terrance led Cal State East Bay with 19 points, including 3-for-4 from three, and eight rebounds.
Stephanie Lopez dished out seven assists to go along with 16 points and six boards.
Cal State East Bay (12-12, 9-8 CCAA) will host UC San Diego (12-9, 9-8 CCAA) in what currently is a battle for sixth place in the league standings. The Tritons defeated Cal State Monterey Bay (5-15, 2-15 CCAA) 56-48 on Thursday night to pull even with the Pioneers.
