HAYWARD, Calif. – Cal State East Bay returns home to host California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) foes Cal State San Bernardino and UC San Diego. Saturday's tilt with the Tritons will also be the Pioneers "Think Pink" contest in which the teams will participate in a nationwide event to help raise awareness of breast cancer.

The East Bay basketball programs will be wearing pink warm-up shirts and other apparel in honor of the event. All proceeds from Saturday's contest will go to the Play4Kay foundation in honor of former women's basketball coach Kay Yow.

Cal State East Bay vs. Cal State San Bernardino
The Coyotes won the original meeting this season 71-64 after erasing a 19-point second half deficit at Coussoulis Arena. However San Bernardino has hit rough times since having lost its past six games and winning just one of its ensuing eight games.

"San Bernardino has a three-pronged scoring attack, but any of their top six can get hot and put up big numbers. They are playing really well right now, regardless of their overall record," said Head Coach Suzy Barcomb. "They took it to us in the second half in our last game and we did not respond."

In that game Alexcia Mack and Jazzmyn Davis combined for 30 second half points, outscoring the entire Pioneer roster. Mack, Tayllor Gipson, and Trinidee Trice are each averaging double-digit scoring to pace the Coyotes offense.

East Bay (12-11, 9-7 CCAA) is also looking to snap a four-game skid and maintain its fifth place position in the CCAA standings. Five teams are battling for the final two conference tournament playoff spots with the Pioneers and Cal State Dominguez Hills sitting one game in front of three other squads.

Stephanie Lopez, Danielle Peacon, and Brianna Terrance combined for 50 of the team's 64 points in the defeat. Peacon finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds, and was the main contributor to East Bay advantages of 43-25 in rebounds and 30-14 in points in the paint.

Cal State East Bay had won three straight meetings with Cal State San Bernardino heading into the Jan. 11 contest. The Pioneers have won their last two home contests against the Coyotes and are 6-1 inside Pioneer Gymnasium this season. San Bernardino is just 1-7 in true road contests during the 2013-14 campaign.

Cal State East Bay vs. UC San Diego
Cal State East Bay tightened the clamps defensively in the second half holding host UC San Diego to just 21 points en route to a 78-58 victory. It was Terrance's most prolific offensive night of her career scoring 27 points on 12-of-17 shooting from the floor. She was the main catalyst for a team that shot over 56 percent from the field on the night.

The Tritons season leading scorer Miranda Seto finished with 19 points on an efficient 6-of-8 shooting night, including 3-for-4 from beyond the arc. No other UCSD player scored more than eight points for the game and more than four in the second half.

UC San Diego enters this week's play on a four-game losing streak and has averaged 50.3 points per game over the past three contests. Seto played in only two of those games but did return in last Saturday's six-point loss to Cal State Stanislaus contributing 15 points in 34 minutes.

"UCSD has incredibly talented guards that can score from anywhere on the floor. They have a solid inside game and play so well together," praised Barcomb. "It will be their deep bench against our short bench. We need to defend the 3-pointer, limit second chance points, and get back to playing East Bay defense."

Cal State East Bay has won the two most recent matchups after UC San Diego won the first seven since the Pioneers joined the CCAA. The Pioneers are looking for their first home win over the Tritons.
