SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- The Cal State East Bay men's cross country team took eighth place at the 2014 Calfornia Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships on Saturday morning to close out the fall season. The 8K race was hosted by Cal State San Bernardino on the University's campus.
The Pioneers totaled 258 points in the eight-team event. No. 3 nationally ranked Chico State captured the team championship for the 13th consecutive year.

Will Weekes paced the squad in his final collegiate race. The Castro Valley native placed 56th overall with a time of 27:48.0, finishing the season as East Bay's top runner in all five meets.

Latee Piggee (29:58.1) took the 64th, 65th, and 66thy spots, respectively. Freshman
David Caballero placed 69th with a time of 30:52.7, and sophomore
Irvin Parada reounded out the team's morning with a 71st-place finish, clocking in at 33:07.2.
