POMONA, Calif. - Cal State East Bay will take on unbeaten and nationally ranked No. 10 Cal Poly Pomona, and a UC San Diego squad coming off back-to-back league wins. The Pioneers enter this weekend off back-to-back draws and with the hopes of earning their first conference win this season.

Cal State East Bay has played four straight overtime games to open league play in 2014. The Pioneers suffered a pair of one goal defeats but rebounded with double overtime ties and their first league points of the season.

Cal State East Bay (3-4-3, 0-2-2 CCAA) will look to end three streaks by pulling an upset against No. 10 Cal Poly Pomona (9-0-1, 4-0-0 CCAA). A Pioneer victory would be the program's first over the Broncos since joining the CCAA in 2009 (0-4-3), end CPP's unbeaten streak at 11 matches dating back to last season, and give CSUEB its first league win of the year.

Cal Poly Pomona currently leads the nation allowing only 0.22 goals against per game. The Broncos defense has surrendered just two goals in 10 matches this season.

CPP and Humboldt State are currently tied atop the league standings with identical 4-0-0 records. The Broncos have the largest league goal differential (+6) and are tied with the Jacks for the most potent offense averaging two goals per game in league play.

UC San Diego (8-3-0, 3-1-0 CCAA) is coming off back-to-back shutout victories over the bottom two teams in the league standings. The Tritons will host Cal State Stanislaus on Friday, Oct. 10, before hosting Cal State East Bay on Sunday afternoon.

Cal State East Bay is looking to score its first goal against UC San Diego since the 2009 season, spanning a stretch of more than 562 minutes. The Tritons are 6-0-1 versus the Pioneers since CSUEB joined the CCAA. The Pioneers will look to break one trend by extending another.

The Cal State East Bay offense has scored at least one goal in three straight games and five out of the past six matches. Senior Adrian Maldonado scored his first two career goals in back-to-back games (Sept. 28-Oct. 3), complimented by scores from Duke Driggs (Oct. 5), Michael Tieku (Sept. 28), and Chris Lara (Oct. 3) over the past three contests.
