HAYWARD, Calif. – The Pioneer women's softball team will play their home finale of the season on Tuesday against Notre Dame de Namur in a non-conference doubleheader. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Pioneer Field.

PIONEER PREVIEW
The Pioneers are tied for ninth in the CCAA with a 9-23 record. East Bay is 14-32 for the season. Sara Holdridge is the Pioneers' leading hitter with a .353 batting average, and she's hitting at .360 in her last eight games. She paces the Pioneers with 11 doubles, three home runs, and 24 RBI. Taryn Thomas is hitting .344 for the season with a team-high 53 hits. Thomas has hit safely in 36 of 44 games.

Meli Sanchez has been red hot lately, batting .423 over her last eight games. Chelsie Kakela is hitting .333 during that same stretch with three doubles, a home run, and four RBI. Pitcher Lauren Zweigle is 10-16 with a 2.91 ERA on the season to lead the team. In her last five outings, Zweigle has a miniscule 1.37 ERA and four complete games. 

ABOUT NOTRE DAME DE NAMUR
Notre Dame de Namur is 29-17 on the season. The Argonauts stand in fourth place in the Pacific West Conference with a 19-9 record, and they're 8-2 in their last 10 games. NDNU is hitting .282 as a team and has 76 stolen bases in 94 attempts. Sylia Honne leads the Argonauts in hitting with a .365 batting average. Mary Ortega, batting .328 for the season, tops the Argonauts with 11 doubles, nine home runs, and 38 RBI. Notre Dame de Namur features a strong pitching staff led by Sammy McConvey (13-6, 1.96 ERA) and Hillary Ruddick (7-2, 3.20 ERA).

The Pioneers will resume CCAA play and conclude the 2013 season with a four-game series at San Francisco State on April 26-27.
