Final Results
WAIKOLOA, Hawaii --- The Cal State East Bay men's golf team finished in sixth place out of 10 teams at the 2013 Dennis Rose Invitational, hosted by Hawaii-Hilo at the Waikoloa Kings Course. The Pioneers were led by
Joel Keylor, who took third place individually, the best finish of his collegiate career. East Bay shot 308 (+20) as a team in Tuesday's final round to give them a total score of 907 (+43).
Keylor followed up yesterday's 69 and 75 with another round of 75 (+3). His total score of 219 (+3) put him 10 strokes behind the individual champion, but was tied for the lowest total among golfers not from Hawaii-Hilo. 219 is also the best three-round score Keylor has posted as a Pioneer. We was the only member of East Bay's team to crack the top-20 of the overall field of 54 golfers.
Adam Stone finished tied for 29th place with an overall total of  231 (+15). The freshman failed to break 80 for the first time in the tournament on Tuesday, carding an 81 (+9).
A.J. Hebert also notched his highest score of the week in the final round with an 84 (+12), but he still managed to place 36th with an overall score of 233 (+17). Just behind Hebert at 234 (+18) was
Elliot Busichio, who finished tied for 38th. The senior shot his best round of the tournament on Tuesday with a 75 (+3), matching Keylor for the best final round on the team.
Joe Furtado-Foster was right on his teammates' heels in 41st place overall. He carded a solid 77 (+5) for the second consecutive round to finish with a total of 236 (+20).
The Dennis Rose Invitational marks the end of East Bay's fall schedule. The Pioneers will resume tournament play in February as they attempt to compete for a CCAA and West Region championship.  Â
