Box Score SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.Trey James, Chris Franco, and Kellen Crow scored in succession during the men's soccer's California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) road contest with San Francisco State to provide the margin of victory in a 3-0 result at Cox Stadium. Friday marked the largest margin of victory for the Pioneers in a CCAA contest since joining the league in 2009.

"Our team played very well for the entire game, especially in the second half. We scored some great goals and absorbed a lot of pressure from the opposition," said the victories head coach Andy Cumbo following Friday's win. "Chris Franco, Jesus Leon, Rica Guerra, and Bryce Bookhamer all stepped up and had strong performances."

The first three shots taken by the visiting side required saves from Gators goalkeeper Colt Reichl. The fourth from the head of Arnol Arceta hit the crossbar, and the final one from Franco was blocked by a SFSU defender. It was a promising start for the Pioneers attack and the constant pressure would result in a score following a scoreless first 45 minutes.

The first shot of the second half by either team opened the scoring. Jesus Leon and Rica Guerra teamed up to find Trey James who put away his third goal of the season in the 48th minute. Little more than two minutes later Guerra found Franco whose shot into the upper left 90 of the goal put the Pioneers up 2-0.

Teammate Kellen Crow was in the right spot at the right time to collect and settle the rebound off a missed attempt. His first goal of the season came in the final 15 minutes to seal the win.

East Bay goalkeeper Bryce Bookhamer stopped a season-best seven shots to earn his third solo shutout of the year. San Francisco State (3-9-1, 2-8-1 CCAA) netminder Colt Reichl made nine saves and racked up his CCAA leading total to 71.

The Pioneer offense has found new life scoring a total of eight goals, including multiple tallies in each of the past three games. The last six goals have been scored by different players and seven different Pioneers have put away the last eight tallies.

Cal State East Bay (3-9-1, 3-7-1 CCAA) will remain on the road for a Sunday, Oct. 20, matchup against Sonoma State (5-4-3, 4-4-2 CCAA).
