Murphy Wimer established a new school record in the 200 IM highlighting a solid performance by the Pioneer women’s swimming team at the Chapman Invitational on Jan. 22.

Wimer broke the CSUEB school record with a winning time of 2:12.04, 11 seconds faster than her nearest competitor. The old record was held by Julie Radecke, with a time of 2:13.67, set in 1988.

Besides winning the 200 IM, Wimer captured the Mixed 200 yard backstroke in 2:14.20.

The Pioneers finished in third place with a score of 294 points. Azusa Pacific recorded 706 points to capture the four-team invitational.
