Vasquez-Ortiz continued what has been a magical start to the soccer season for Cal State East Bay, notching a 2-1 win over Dominican on Wednesday, then posting back-to-back shutouts during the team's trip to Colorado over the weekend. She tallied seven saves on that trip, as CSUEB remained perfect with a 1-0 win over Colorado Mesa on Friday, then another 1-0 win over Western State on Sunday. The freshman phenom has allowed just one goal this season, posted four shutouts in five games, and she leads the CCAA in goals against average. The Long Beach native has helped lead CSUEB to a 5-0 record, notching the program's best start of the CCAA era and already surpassing last year's win total.
