Ayala filled up the scoresheet this week as the Pioneer men's soccer team split a pair of non-conference games. The senior scored twice in a 4-3 loss to UC Santa Cruz on Friday, with both goals coming off assists from Michael Francisco. He netted his third goal of the week on Sunday -- again from a Francisco assist -- to get the Pioneers on the scoreboard in the 71st minute and ultimately help them earn a 2-1 win over Holy Names. Ayala now leads the Pioneers in goals (5) and points (11) for the season.
